DAYTON, Washington – Columbia County Prosecuting Attorney Nickolas Ward reports Annie Lynn Mitchell, 40, of Dayton entered a guilty plea in district court for illegally tattooing a minor. Mitchell is the victim’s mother.

Mitchell was also convicted of second-degree burglary, third-degree malicious mischief and third-degree theft. Ward added she’s waiting to go to treatment on a residential drug offender sentencing alternative.

Robert Tristan Kennedy, 26, also of Dayton, was also arrested in connection with this case, and is awaiting trial. He is charged with second-degree child molestation and illegally tattooing a minor.

Both Mitchell and Kennedy were arrested back in May following an investigation by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation began when the Dayton School District reported Kennedy was allegedly involved in a dating relationship with a student younger than 14 years of age, but older than 12.

According to court documents, Mitchell tattooed a black pig on the victim’s ankle and a 5-inch black design on victim’s lower back, while Kennedy finished a small black cross tattoo on her finger.

Kennedy remains held on a $50,000 bond in the nearby Walla Walla County Jail.
