UMATILLA – Work on Powerline Road in Umatilla will begin in September, bringing reduced lanes and expected traffic delays.
Amazon Web Services is funding the infrastructure project to install water, wastewater, and fiber lines along Powerline Road, stretching from Quail Avenue to Potato Lane. During construction, portions of Powerline Road will be reduced to a single lane.
The project is scheduled to run through May 2027.
City officials emphasized that the work is being performed by a private contractor for AWS and is not a City of Umatilla project.
