Reminder, contact OTEC’s office for billing issues/questions

BAKER CITY – A reminder to Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative (OTEC) member owners that OTEC’s offices remain open and staff are on hand to assist with inquiries or any perceived issues related to billing. Recently, Elkhorn Media group has received some claims/questions from various residents within OTEC’s Baker and Harney County service areas regarding alleged discrepancies between information displayed on printed statements vs online accounts, with some residents further allegedly claiming that their July billing statements show an unanticipated spike.

OTEC has informed Elkhorn Media Group that any member-owners who believe there may be issues with their billing statements, may have experienced an unexpected increase to their bill, or have any other questions should contact OTEC directly at 541-523-3616. OTEC Did not inform EMG of any known blanket issues regarding billing statements or member-owner account information and noted that accounts and issues need to be evaluated on an account-by-account basis.

As was stated by OTEC in a recent correspondence, “billing concerns must be evaluated using the individual account’s meter information, billing period, applicable rate and charges.”

Again, OTEC’s offices remain open per standard business hours. For questions, call 541-523-3616.
