Woman sentenced to 30 days in Harney County Jail following fourth-degree assault plea

HARNEY COUNTY-A criminal proceeding in Harney County Circuit Court concluded Monday with a 30-day jail sentence for a woman charged in connection with an autumn 2025 incident.
Jennifer Jolynn Guenther appeared in custody before Circuit Court Judge Robert S. Raschio on August 24, 2026. During the proceeding, Guenther entered a guilty plea to one count of Assault in the Fourth Degree, a Class A misdemeanor, stemming from an incident on or about October 27, 2025.
Judge Raschio sentenced Guenther to 30 days in the custody of the Harney County Jail, remanding her to the Harney County Sheriff for transport to serve the sentence. Guenther may receive credit for time already served and may be evaluated by supervisory authorities for potential alternative sanctions as permitted under state law.
Representing Guenther, court-appointed defense attorney John B. Lamborn noted that his client knowingly waived the statutory two-day waiting period prior to sentencing, allowing the court to hand down the judgment immediately following her plea. The State of Oregon was represented by Deputy District Attorney Ryan Patrick Hughes.
As part of the resolution, three additional charges against Guenther—two counts of Harassment and a second count of Fourth-Degree Assault—were dismissed by the court.
