Phillips Creek Fire reported outside of Elgin

UNIION COUNTY – A new fire has been reported approxiamlty 4 miles west of Elgin, the Phillips Creek Fire is currently reported at 23 acres in size.

The following information has been released by Union County Emergency Management

“Fire Response Underway Near Phillips Creek and Highway 204

A wildfire started this afternoon in the area between Phillips Creek and Highway 204.

Interagency wildland fire resources, including local rural fire protection districts, are on scene. Helicopters are also conducting water drops to assist with fire suppression efforts.

The City of Elgin is not threatened by this fire at this time.
