Evacuation advisories, road closures issued for Paradise Fire near Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA COUNTY — Emergency officials have issued evacuation warnings and road closures as fire crews respond to the Paradise Fire in Walla Walla County.
A Level 2 “Be Set” evacuation advisory is in effect for areas immediately north of Paradise Ridge, land near the southern boundary of the Level 1 zone, and regions along Mill Creek adjacent to active fire detections. Residents in the yellow-shaded zone (see map above) must prepare to leave at a moment’s notice due to potential rapid changes in fire behavior.
A Level 1 “Be Ready” advisory covers the Biscuit Ridge Road corridor, Black Snake Ridge, Green Ridge, portions of Lewis Peak Road, areas surrounding Thompson Road, and land extending west toward Laird Gulch and Blue Creek. Residents in these green-shaded areas should stay alert, monitor updates, and pack essentials.
To assist operations, officials closed several key roads, including McCown Road from US Highway 12 to Wilson Hollow Road—along with Coppei, South Fork Coppei, North Fork Coppei, and Leid roads.
Lewis Peak Road is closed from US Highway 12 to its end, affecting Clancy and Dent roads. Mud Creek Road is closed from US Highway 12 to Lewis Peak Road. Additionally, Biscuit Ridge Road is closed past Third Street in Dixie, and Blacksnake Ridge Road is closed from the Tracy, Blue Creek, and Spring Creek intersection to its end.
Authorities ask non-residents to stay clear of the area to allow crews to work safely.
