ENTERPRISE – Crews are continuing to hold and reinforce lines on the Burnt Creek Fire north of Enterprise, but remain vigilant as critical fire weather persists.
Lines on the north end of the fire are holding. Firefighters continued their work on the line at the confluence of Davis and Swamp creeks, while connecting Miller Ridge to Starvation Ridge.
Mop-up efforts are taking place on the line from Oregon Route 3 to the Davis and Swamp creek junction.
On the east side of the fire, crews are making steady progress using handlines and firing operations aided by unmanned aircraft systems. They’re also utilizing international assistance, with resources from Australia and New Zealand helping to maintain the span of control.
Forecasts show critical fire weather conditions will continue through the weekend.
An air quality advisory is in effect for much of northeast Oregon through Friday, with Enterprise and Elgin being impacted the heaviest.
