ATHENA – Fire fighting officials and public information officers are calling for community members impacted by the Hagen, Paradise, and Horse Ridge fires to attend an informational meeting today (Friday) at 6 p.m.
The meeting will be at Weston-McEwen High School’s gym at 540 East Main St., Athena.
Fire managers and agency representatives will be on hand to talk about the three wildfires and to answer questions.
The Hagen Fire, at more than 8,600 acres is about nine miles southwest of Tollgate. The Horse Ridge fire, at 688 acres, is about five miles northeast of Meacham. The Paradise fire, at 675 acres, is about 10 miles southeast of Walla Walla.
Editor’s note: This meeting is only for the three fires mentioned above. The crew that was assigned to the Lower Dry Creek Fire has left the area after achieving 100 percent containment. The officials cannot address any issues involving that fire.
