Vehicle fire erupts near church and store in Milton-Freewater

MILTON-FREEWATER — Authorities responded to a dramatic vehicle fire Wednesday at 1:50 p.m. after a pickup truck pulling a camper trailer caught fire in Milton-Freewater.

The incident occurred on Southeast 7th Avenue, near the 700 block of South Main Street. The fire took place adjacent to Grace Presbyterian Church and across the street from Fast Mart.

An image provided by a bystander shows the full-size pickup truck fully engulfed in intense flames, sending thick plumes of black smoke into the air near an attached travel trailer.

Officers with the Milton-Freewater Police Department were at the scene managing the situation.

It is not immediately clear if any injuries were reported or what caused the blaze.
