Vehicle accident leads to fire and closure of EB I-84 west of Pendleton Thursday

PENDLETON – A vehicle accident that led to a fire caused a closure of eastbound Interstate 84 west of Pendleton on Thursday.

Pendleton Fire and Ambulance confirmed the accident led to the vehicle fire which caused a small grass fire. They said the scene was turned over to Oregon State Police.

Officials closed the eastbound lanes at around 10 a.m., they were reopened around noon.
