JOSEPH – Summer is here and so are the fish! Though drought conditions have caused disruptions, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is continuing its trout stocking schedule. Wallowa Lake is no exception.
For Wallowa County residents, or anyone looking for an excuse to hit the water this month, a further 19,205 fish are bound for the lake, including 18,600 legals and 605 trophies. 11,655 fish were stocked last week, while the remaining 7,550 are scheduled to be stocked next week.
Other water bodies slated to receive fish this month include Marr Pond, Kinney Lake, Salt Creek Summit Pond, and McGraw Pond.
