CLARKSTON, WA — Asotin County commissioners have enacted a county-wide burn ban that went into effect Monday.
Asotin County, like all of southeast Washington, northwest Idaho, and northeast Oregon has been designated with some level drought according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. Asotin County is classified as Moderate Drought.
The burn ban appears to have come just in time as a red flag warning was in effect Wednesday for portions of the county.
This act prohibits all burning including campfires and fireworks. Although gas fire rings as well as gas and charcoal barbeques are still permitted in safe areas.
