MISSION – A layer of smoke billowed over the Blue Mountains Sunday as crews continued to work the North Cayuse Fire east of Mission.
CTUIR said in an update that size of the fire is approximated to be 2,300 to 2,500 acres. They said it advanced to Buckaroo and Stagecoach and has followed the ridge to Iskuulpa with a small portion burned to the west side of Iskuulpa.
Crews were working Sunday to keep the fire from the east side and Bachelor Canyon, as well as keeping it from going farther south.
A Level One, Be Ready evacuation was still in effect for that immediate area.
