Hotspots reignite fire in field near Hines

HINES – Firefighters in Hines responded to a fire yet again at a field at Snow Mountain Lane and Hotchkiss Avenue. Hines VFD anticipate fires to continue flaring up from hotspots throughout the summer. Find the fire department’s press release below:

Just after 7:30 pm Tuesday evening, Hines Fire Department was dispatched to the field at Snow Mountain Lane and Hotchkiss Ave for another fire that had popped up from underground again. This will continue to happen when the proper conditions occur throughout the summer.

For public safety, don’t go into the field. There are areas that have grass and brush on them and look like solid ground but it’s actually smoldering/burning underneath. This forms an ash pit deeper than knee deep with temperatures over 800°F. 3rd degree burns are very possible.
