UPDATE: Evacuations, road closures in place for wildfire in Huntington area

Update: I-84 is now back open.
UPDATE 6/6 11:49 P.M. – Interstate 84 is now closed in both directions from Baker City to Ontario.
UPDATE 6/6 10:48 P.M. – The Baker County Sheriff’s Office has issued evacuation orders for a wildfire in the Huntington area, including a Level 3, Go Now order for Farewell Bend State Park.
Level 1 Be Ready and Level 2 Be Set orders are also in effect, reference the map below for the exact locations.
We will provide updates as they become available.
BAKER CITY – The westbound lanes of Interstate 84 have closed between Ontario and Baker City and Ontario because of a wildfire.
U.S. 30 south of Huntington has also been closed.
No estimated time of reopening has been given, and the Oregon Department of Transportation notes that the unpredictability of wildfires mean the road may open or close with little notice.
