LA GRANDE – The La Grande School District is hosting a special open house tomorrow, and it won’t be a typical classroom tour. Instead, members of the community will get to tour a brand-new townhouse, built in part by La Grande Highschool students.
The open house runs from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the recently completed Tiger Home on the corner of 3rd Street and I Avenue in La Grande. Community members will get to tour the new home, meet the students and staff that helped make it happen, see details on future projects, and ask questions.
In addition, the La Grande School District is reaffirming its dedication to the project. Eight additional Tiger Homes are planned over the next eight years, one house per year. For those unfamiliar with the project, Tiger Homes sees La Grande’s own CTE students assist crews in building district-owned houses, gaining valuable hands-on experience and skills in the trades and technical work. As each house is completed, it is sold/leased.
