Expect traffic delays in Halfway and Richland for curb ramp upgrades beginning June 1

HALFWAY – (Press release from the Oregon Department of Transportation) Travelers in Halfway should expect intermittent shoulder and lane closures beginning next week as crews return to complete curb ramp upgrades begun in 2025.

Crews will begin at the southwest corner of OR 86-S (Main Street) and Church Street.

Richland

Beginning June 8, travelers in Richland should expect intermittent shoulder and lane closures as crews upgrade curb ramps along OR 86 through town.

Work will begin at OR 86 (Main Street) and Moody Road. Crews will work on the northwest side of the highway before moving to the southwest side.

North Powder

Most work in North Powder is complete, with final landscaping, paving, and permanent sign installation expected to wrap up in early June.

Construction schedules may change due to weather or other unexpected conditions.

The work in North Powder, Richland, and Halfway is part of our continuing effort to upgrade curb ramps throughout eastern Oregon. Work in these communities is scheduled to be completed by October 2026.
