UMATILLA COUNTY — Daytime lane closures and delays are expected on OR-11 starting Monday, June 15 as crews begin a chip seal preservation project, the Oregon Department of Transportation announced Tuesday. This new start date is a week later than originally announced.
The work will impact a 16-mile stretch from OR-331 to the Weston Interchange at OR-204.
Motorists should anticipate reduced speed limits, loose rock, and delays of up to 20 minutes. Flaggers and pilot cars will guide single-lane traffic through the work zone, and overnight delays are possible during road sweeping.
Officials urge drivers to slow down and leave extra space between vehicles to prevent windshield damage from loose gravel.
Paving operations are expected to conclude by late June, with permanent striping scheduled for July. All project activities should wrap up by August.
