MONUMENT – The Flying Tigers Club at Monument School got another trip in recently. Around every two years, students and chaperones from Monument fundraise and travel somewhere fun and exotic. For their latest trip, the Tigers chose New Orleans as their destination.
Superintendent Laura Thomas was recently on KJDY’s Coffee Time and reflected on their recent trip to the south:
“We left Monument on Friday, April 24th and headed to Portland. We caught a red-eye flight that landed us in New Orleans there about 5:30 Saturday morning. We were there all week, and we flew back out of New Orleans Saturday May 1st, and got home that evening.
There were fifteen students that went. Almost our entire high school—a couple of kids did not go.”
