Area nonprofits benefit from Oregon Community Foundation grants

PORTLAND – The Oregon Community Foundation has given 258 grants totaling nearly $5.2 million. The funding is intended to strengthen community well-being, build arts infrastructure, expand economic opportunities, and stabilize families.
The grants come from several Oregon Community Foundation programs. Most of it comes through the Community Grants Program. Organizations in all 36 Oregon counties have received funding.
In this area, $20,000 grants went to the Stanfield Community Center and the Hermiston Cultural Awareness Coalition. Crows Shadow Institute, the Milton-Freewater Neighborhood Senior Center, and Tiichám Conservation District each received $15,000 grants. All of the grants were from the Community Grants Program except for the Hermiston one. It came from the Black Student Success Grants fund.
