ENTERPRISE – (Release from Wallowa Memorial Hospital) Wallowa Memorial Hospital and Medical Clinics are proud to announce the expansion of its healthcare services with the addition of a comprehensive Urology service line. This new specialty will be led by Austen Slade, MD, MBA, an endourologist dedicated to bringing advanced care to Northeast Oregon.
The introduction of urological services marks a significant milestone in Wallowa Memorial’s commitment to providing high-quality, specialized medical care close to home for the residents of Wallowa County.
Dr. Slade joins the medical staff with extensive training in minimally invasive surgical techniques and the medical management of complex urological conditions. His expertise includes prostate care, kidney stone management, and general urology, offering comprehensive care for a wide range of urological issues. He will be available to see patients locally three days each month.
Dr. Slade earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas – Houston Medical School. He completed his urology residency at the University of Utah followed by a prestigious Endourology Fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
In addition to his medical credentials, Dr. Slade holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Kelley School of Business. He is also a Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt, reflecting a commitment to operational excellence and patient experience within the healthcare setting. An avid endurance athlete, Dr. Slade has completed several Ironman triathlons and ultramarathons. His active lifestyle and appreciation for the outdoors align with the values of the Wallowa County community.
