BAKER CITY — Enough money for around 5,500 meals was donated to Community Connection of Baker City from the Powder River Correctional Facility’s fundraising efforts.

The Oregon Department of Corrections reports that in March, Powder River Correctional Facility staff took part in the State Employees Food Drive. PRCF Administrative Services Manager Joey Cockram led the charge. At the drive, funds were collected through a silent auction. ODC reports, “This year PRCF hosted a Silent Auction that raised $1,834, which equates to approximately 5,500 meals.”

The Oregon Department of Corrections thanked the donors on social media.
