UNION COUNTY – The Union County Search and Rescue Team are getting a notable boost heading into spring. On Wednesday, La Grande Amazon Site Manager Mark Warner, on behalf of Amazon, donated roughly $3,000 worth of gear to the local SAR team on Thursday, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO). As written by UCSO in a recent post:
“This equipment will substantially facilitate our SAR team’s ability to add two additional members to our water rescue team. The donated items included two rescue dry suits, rescue helmets, and a rescue personal floatation device.”
Though overseen by UCSO, the Union County Search and Rescue team is still a largely volunteer run and supported organization. Donations such as this greatly assist SAR volunteers in their ability to respond to emergencies, no matter the location or condition.
