One officer minorly injured during 26th street arrest, La Grande

LA GRANDE – One woman was arrested and one officer sustained minor injuries during a disturbance call on 26th street in La Grande last week. At around 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, the La Grande Police Department responded to a reported disturbance at 307 20th St. Apartment D, where a female had reportedly been attempting to kick in the door, though fled prior to law enforcement arrival.

The woman, who is reportedly known to the occupants of the 20th St. Apartment, was identified as 32-year-old Jessa Mae Hillerich. Officer later made contact with her at her residence at 1806 26th Street, Space 56. When officers attempted to take Hillerich into custody, she reportedly resisted, with one officer sustaining minor injuries in the struggle. The officer was later evaluated by medical personnel, cleared, and has since returned to duty. 

Hillerich’s charges, according to a recent LGPD press log, specifically included Assaulting a Public Safety Officer X2, Burglary 1, Resisting Arrest, and Harassment-Physical Contact X2.
