HARNEY COUNTY (Released from Burns Fire Department)-On Thursday, March 19, 2026, Burns Fire Department was tones out to a report of 3 different spot fires threatening a structure on Highway 78 at milepost 3.5. Burns Fire Department respond with a Type 3, staffed with 2 and a Water Tender staffed with 1. Burns Fire Department made quick work knocking down the fire. Hines Volunteer Fire Department was later toned out to assist with mop up of the fire. Hines Volunteer Fire Department responded with a Type 6 staffed with 2.
During the mop up, Burns Fire Department was toned out to another report of a fire on Highway 20 at milepost 136. Burns Fire Department and Hines Volunteer Fire Department resources diverted from mop up on Highway 78 and respond to the Highway 20 fire. The fire was quickly knocked down and mopped up. Burns Fire Department was cleared from the Highway 20 incident and retuned to finish mop up on the Highway 78 incident.
