Hosted by the Northeast Oregon Area Health Education Center (AHEC), Rural MedQuest is a free, nationally recognized program that brings students together with health professionals from across Eastern Oregon.

During the six-day camp, students explore a wide range of health care careers while gaining practical skills and connecting with mentors in the field.

A sneak peek at the camp experience includes:

  • Job shadowing with health care professionals
  • Learning clinical skills such as taking vital signs, suturing and CPR
  • Emergency medical services training with local fire and EMS teams

The camp concludes with a celebration and wrap-up where families are invited to attend.

Rural MedQuest has received national, state and local recognition for its impact on the future health care workforce, helping students from rural communities explore careers in medicine, nursing, emergency care, dentistry, behavioral health and other health professions.
