PENDLETON – The Blue Mountain Equine Center is already the scene of special events and it will become even more special next month when the Blue Mountain Community College Rodeo Team hosts the Northwest Intercollegiate Rodeo Finals there.
“April 24th and 25th we are hosting a rodeo at the new Blue Mountain Equine Center,” Athletic Director Brad Baker said. “That’s right there downtown next to the Round-Up Grounds so we’re really excited to host our first yearly rodeo there.”
The Blue Mountain Equine Center is the result of years of work by many, including BMCC, the Pendleton Round-Up, the city of Pendleton, and Umatilla County. It also included hard work convincing the Oregon Legislature to set aside partial funding for its construction.
The center is available to be rented through the Pendleton Convention Center, but it was conceived as a home for the award-winning rodeo team.
