SALEM – Oregon’s Energy Facility Siting Council will hold its next regular meeting over Thursday and Friday of next week (March 19-20). The council will be meeting at the Sage Center, 101 Olson Road, Boardman. Attendance will be open to the public in person or virtually using the Webex platform.

There are several items on the agenda that are pertinent to this region. One is a public hearing on Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility III in Morrow County about seven miles northwest of Heppner.

The company is asking the council to allow it to split the operational facility and remaining approved unbuilt portions of the facility into two separate site certifications. Each of those would have its own site boundary and certificate holder.

The agenda, detailed reports, and the link to watch the meeting virtually are available at meeting agenda. The Thursday meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. The next day’s meeting will begin at 9 a.m.
