Watermain work will close a portion of Island Ave in Island City tomorrow

ISLAND CITY — Residents and drivers in Island City should expect traffic disruption tomorrow, March 4. A portion of Island Avenue between North McAlister Road/Highway 82 and South Sterling Street will be closed while crews work on a water main in the area. A detour will be routed along 2nd Street, behind D&B Supply. See the map provided by Island City.

Green indicates an open portion of road and the detour. Red indicates a lane closure. Be mindful of crews and equipment in the area and prepare to slow down when approaching the work zone. Also be mindful of traffic congestion in the area as regular traffic is detoured through smaller city streets

The closure will begin around 8:00 a.m. and last around 5 hours, thought the exact length will depend on the work being done.
