Cairnspring Mills reaches construction milestone on Pendleton mill site

PENDLETON – Cairnspring Mills co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Kevin Morse reports the company’s Blue Mountain Mill Site is under construction with the main steel structure erected.

The 27,000 square foot facility, which consists of a warehouse and mill, is located in Coyote Business Park South, on land owned by the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation.

“We’re on schedule right now, still looking at substantial completion by the end of July and early August, and hoping to be in full production by September, October of this year,” Morse adds.

Once operational, the Blue Mountain Mill Site will employ over 20 people and annually produce 110 million pounds of flour using locally sourced grains.Photo via Cairnspring Mills
