NYSSA — The American Red Cross reports their blood supply is experiencing a severe blood shortage. According to the Red Cross, “Extreme winter weather is disrupting efforts to replenish the blood supply, forcing the cancellation of hundreds of blood drives and causing over 20,000 blood and platelet donations to go uncollected.” The organization encourages all eligible donors to do so.
The next blood drive in Nyssa will be held on Monday, February 23rd from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Nyssa Senior Center. To schedule an appointment, log on to redcrossblood.org, or call 1 (800) 733-2767.
