Influenza A is currently circulating in our community. Influenza A is a contagious respiratory illness that can cause symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, fatigue, headache, and sometimes vomiting or diarrhea.
To help reduce the spread, we encourage everyone to take the following precautions:
-Wash hands frequently with soap and water or use hand sanitizer
-Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or elbow
-If you are having respiratory symptoms it is recommended to wear a mask in highly populated areas.
-Avoid close contact with others if you are feeling unwell
-Stay home if you have flu-like symptoms until you are fever-free for 24-hours without the use of medication
Influenza A is a virus and usually resolves its own. It is important to stay well hydrated and get plenty of rest. Over-the-counter medications such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen (Tylenol) may be used to help alleviate symptoms such as fever, body aches, and discomfort. Please use all medications as directed.
If you experience symptoms that are severe, persistent, or worsening, please seek medical advice from a healthcare provider.
Thank you for helping keep our community healthy and safe.
