BAKER & MALHEUR COUNTIES โ A heads up for Baker and Malheur County residents; the National Weather Service has issued another multi-day air stagnation advisory for the region. Portions of both counties, as well as the Treasure Valley and Western Magic Valley areas will be impacted through (as of time of writing) 4:00 a.m. Monday, February 9 Pacific Time (5:00 a.m. mountain time).
Residents should expect stagnant air, little to no winds, and a buildup of pollutants near the surface due to limited air circulation. The full advisory, as issued by the NWS, is as follows:

PST/ MONDAY…
* WHAT…An extended period of stagnant air, with light winds and
little vertical mixing. This is due to an inversion near the
surface that will continue to trap pollutants.
* WHERE…Portions of south central and southwest Idaho and
northeast and southeast Oregon.
* WHEN…Until 5 AM MST /4 AM PST/ Monday.
* IMPACTS…Poor air quality may cause issues for people with
respiratory problems.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Persons with respiratory illness should follow their physicians
advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution during periods
of stagnant air.
