*UPDATE* Thursday morning fire destroys home in Burns

BURNS-Harney County Dispatch received a call Thursday, January 22, 2026, in regards a house fire at 634 S Imperial Ave in Burns.

According to the dispatch log, no humans or animals were inside the home. The initial call came in from a neighbor stating the house next door is on fire and reported that the person who caused the fire took off and then returned. The caller reported hearing a loud bang and the entire house on fire with flames coming out the windows.

After several hours, Burns and Hines Fire Departments were able get the fire under control and put out.

An Oregon State Fire Deputy will come and investigate the cause of the fire. 

UPDATE (Released from Burns Fire chief Scott Williamson)-On 01/22/2026 at 20;15 Burns fire was dispatched to a house fir at 634 S. Imperial. Burns fire arrived on scene to find fire venting out of the southeast windows of the house.

Burns fire requested Hines fire, Harney EMS for assistance. Law enforcement from Burns, Hines, and OSP were already on scene.

Oregon State Fire Marshal was called in to determine origin and cause of the fire. At this time the fire is still under investigation.
