Union County SAR Volunteers honored at 2026 banquet

UNION COUNTY – On Friday, January 9, Union County Search and Rescue hosted its annual banquet. During the gathering, six local and incredibly dedicated volunteers were honored by the Union County Sheriff’s Office, with their awards being presented by Sheriff Cody Bowen.

According to information posted by Union County SAR, Jamie Killgore (Center) was presented with the 2025 Oregon State Sheriffs Association Volunteer of the Year award for the region, and Nick Peckham (Bottom Left) with the Union County SAR 2025 Member of the Year Wward.

Kyle Tucker (Top Left) and Tyson Brooks (Bottom Right) both received their 15-year recognition awards, while Owen Davis (Top Right) and Luch Shuette (Not Pictured) received their 10-year recognition awards. In a social media post recognizing the volunteers and their achievements, Union County SAR wrote:

“The volunteers listed above have made incredible personal commitments and investments into our team and community, and we hope you join us in thanking them, and all our amazing volunteers, for everything they do for Union County. If it weren’t for the countless hours of training, behind the scenes coordination, maintenance, and mission responses they do, we wouldn’t be the team we are. Thank you!”
