UNION COUNTY โ€“ (Release from the Union County Retired Educators Club) Savannah Alterburg, Community Development Coordinator for Union County, was the guest speaker at the Retired Educatorโ€™s luncheon. Altenburg, whose job includes other counties, shared ideas which the local club might use in support of community projects. Altenburg had attended a meeting the previous year and the club issued a gift card to be used in the โ€œAdopt a Resource Family.โ€ It was suggested the educators consider volunteering for the CASSA program, providing summer meals for the weekend, and supporting the Foster Parent Appreciation Day in May.

The Retired Educators recently donated fresh fruit for the 223 bags going out in the school Backpack program. With a motion by Anne Rodriguez, the club agreed to supply fresh fruit again for the students.
