Three Baker County public servants graduate from DPSST academy

BAKER COUNTY – A fresh batch of law enforcement academy graduates have advanced in their respective programs from the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training and will begin their public service in Baker County.

The Baker County Sheriff’s Office congratulated Peyton Miller, the department’s newest dispatcher. Dispatcher Miller graduated from DPSST’s Basic Telecommunicator Course. BCSO stated, “We have no doubt she will excel in this field!”

The Sheriff’s Office also congratulated Deputy Dan Downing, who began in the Corrections Division with BCSO, and following graduation, will be on Patrol. The agency stated they were glad to have Deputy Downing back at the department.

The Baker City Police Department announced that Officer Isaiah Bradford graduated from the Basic Police Academy with honors. Officer Bradford earned the Leo B. App Excellence in Firearms award, which the department explained, “…is given to the student with the best demonstrated marksmanship skills in the class.”

BCPD stated, “We are excited to welcome him back to Baker City and begin his career in law enforcement.”
