LA GRANDE & ENTERPRISE – The Oregon Community Foundation recently announced the latest recipients of its Thriving Entrepreneurs grant program. In total, forty-two non-profit organizations received grants, with the funds going to, as written by the OCF, “support entrepreneurs with capital, connections, curriculum, coaching and more.”
Notable this year, 79% of recipients were from rural communities, including two in Northeast Oregon. First up, the Rural Engagement & Vitality Center, based in La Grande, received $20,000 to support rural entrepreneurs and industry development in Eastern Oregon. As fully written by the OCF:
“To be used to enhance OFIH’s capacity to provide outreach, business development coaching, and tailored mentorship and technical assistance to rural traded-sector entrepreneurs in pursuit of bringing new jobs & wealth to Eastern Oregon
Secondly, the Northeast Oregon Economic Development District also received $20,000 dollars for local support and development efforts. As written by OCF:
“To support Small Business Success Day events in each county, expanded one-on-one
coaching hours, more classes and improved outreach.”
In total, $903,000 dollars was distributed statewide.
