SPIRE Grant helps Harney County to get a sandbagger

HARNEY COUNTY-Harney County Emergency Management was on the move Monday, December 15, 2025, when they went and picked up a sandbagger that they were able to receive because of the SPIRE Grant. In the past, Harney County had to drive 9 hours round trip to pick one up to borrow from surrounding counties.
The SPIRE Grant (short for State Preparedness and Incident Response Equipment) is a specific grant program in Oregon managed by the Oregon Department of Emergency Management to provide local governments and partners with crucial equipment for disaster preparedness, response and recovery, enhancing local capabilities to protect lives and property.
