SALEM – Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek unveiled what she calls her Prosperity Roadmap on Tuesday. The route requires appointing a chief prosperity officer and council within her office. Kotek stated she will work to grow Oregon businesses, catalyze job creation, and accelerate Oregon’s economic growth. Rep. Bobby Levy (R-Echo) wants to know how much that will cost.
“When will Oregon leaders realize that throwing money (that we don’t have) at a problem won’t fix it,” Levy wrote. “Republicans have been sounding the alarm for years – cut bureaucracy, cut red tape, and stop taxing businesses out of this state.”
Levy added that if the governor really wants businesses to thrive in Oregon, her (Democrat) party must stop overregulating every industry.
“Just as Kotek’s lofty statewide housing goals have only resulted in less units being built, I expect we’ll see more business leave the state until we get new leadership,” Levy said.
