WALLA WALLA – LIFE Church and the Alamo Group, which specializes in real estate and development, have announced a partnership in Walla Walla.
As the Alamo Group works to build a new state-of-the-art movie theater at Walla Walla Town Center, it currently has the current Cinemark Grand Cinemas, 1325 W. Poplar St., under contract. The Alamo Group offered LIFE Church the opportunity to purchase and transform the current movie theater into a new home for the church.
“We purchased the current movie theater property for $6.5 million,” LIFE Church Lead Pastor Bob Grimm said.
Grimm added the new property is approximately 44,750 square feet, about double the size of LIFE Church’s current facility at 611 S. Ninth Ave.
Cinemark Grand Cinemas plans to continue operating for the next two years while a new theater is being built just west of the existing theater’s location. Once that lease concludes, LIFE Church will begin remodeling the facility into a new, accessible home for its congregation and community outreach.
Grimm said LIFE Church will put its current location, which used to be Hastings Entertainment, a retail chain specializing in books, music, movies, and video games, up for sale.
