DESCHUTES COUNTY (Released by Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office)-The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue volunteers were called out Sunday afternoon at 12:28 p.m. to help an injured snowboarder on the Cinder Cone at Mt. Bachelor.

The 29-year-old man, who recently moved to Central Oregon, fell and hit a rock, causing severe pain to his hip and ribs. Fifteen SAR volunteers responded and worked together to bring him safely down to a snowcat road.
