LA GRANDE – On Thursday, October 16, the La Grande Police Department responded to a report of a male subject pointing a firearm at residents in the 1600 block of Z Avenue. Officers quickly responded and contacted both the reporting party and victims, identifying the subject as 64-year-old Robert Andrew Jacoby.
According to the LGPD, Jacoby, who is known to the victims, had made threats toward them, resulting in a short physical altercation. Shortly after, Jacoby pointed a gun at one of the victims before fleeing in a vehicle prior to police arrival. He was contacted by law enforcement at another residence later that evening at around 9:53 p.m. and arrested. Jacoby reportedly cooperated with police and was booked into the Union County Jail on charges of Pointing a Firearm at Another (2x), Menacing (2x) and strangulation.
