PRAIRIE CITY โ UPDATE 9/19 – (Press Release from the Malheur National Forest)
The Malheur National Forest has reduced the closure for the Bridge Fire located on Blue Mountain Ranger District. To protect public health and safety, fire managers have closed the area around the fire due to fire activity and fire suppression operations.
This Forest Order, Malheur Bridge Fire Perimeter Closure (06-04-01-25-18) will be effective September 19, 2025, and will remain in effect through December 31, 2025, unless rescinded sooner. This closure order rescinds and replaces the previous Malheur Bridge Fire Closure Area Update (06-04-01-25-17).
Closure Description:
All roads within this closure area will remain closed, with closure signs in place.

UPDATE 9/18: The Malheur National Forest reports the Bridge Fire northeast of Prairie City is 100% contained. The announcement came on the forestโs Facebook page yesterday at approximately 4:16 p.m. Yesterday, 202 personnel were staffed on the fire. The Bridge Fire grew to 350 acres and the cause is still under investigation.
