PENDLETON – A juvenile has been taken into custody in relation a fire on Friday near Sunridge Middle School that burned approximately 62 acres.
Pendleton Police (PPD) says while helping to secure the area and conduct traffic control during the fire, they began to investigate the cause of the incident. As a result of the investigation a juvenile was taken into custody and will face charges.
PPD did not say what the charges were, and that due to legal restrictions no further information regarding the juvenile would be released.
Although the fire did get close to some residences none were lost, but Pendleton Fire and Ambulance Chief Tony Pierotti said there was some property damage.
