Stone Fire near Long Creek is 122 acres and 15% contained

LONG CREEK – UPDATE ((/4 @ 11:356 a.m.) – The Stone Fire has been updated to 122 acres, and the High Desert Type 3 IMT is in command. Find their latest release below:

Location: 10 miles northwest of Long Creek, Oregon 

Current Situation: The Stone Fire was reported on August 31at approximately 4:45 PM near the  community of Long Creek, Oregon. The Fire is estimated at 122 acres. Crews made good progress  in further securing the line on the fire, resulting in 15% containment. Fire activity remained  minimal last night with a few smoldering trees reported. Today firefighters will continue to widen  and strengthen containment lines on the east side of the fire. Crews will also start mop up  operations around the fire and will continue laying out hose where needed. Warm temperatures,  poor relative humidity and windy conditions are expected to continue. A total of 183 personnel are  assigned to the incident, including: 7 engines, 6 hand crews, 6 water tenders, 2 skidgines, 3 dozers  and 2 helicopters.
