PENDLETON – Police activity in the south hill area of Pendleton caused a temporary lockdown of area schools and businesses, and the arrest of an individual on Wednesday morning.

At 8:26 a.m. Pendleton Police (PPD) received a report of an isolated incident and responded to the scene to investigate. Schools and businesses in the area, including Pendleton Early Learning Center, enacted secure/lockdown procedures out of an abundance of caution. Those have since been lifted.

One individual was taken into custody and PPD say there’s no ongoing threat to the public. They are actively investigating and say they will release further details when they become available.
