HARNEY COUNTY-Harney County Emergency Management would like to remind everyone that fire restrictions are in place on all public lands within the Burns Interagency Fire Zone implementing regulated fire closures and Phase B of Public Use Restriction, as of July 20, 2025. Under these orders:
Campfires will only be allowed in the following designated campgrounds and recreation sites:
-Fish Lake Campground
-Jackman Park
-Buck Springs Campground
-Delintment Campground
-Falls Campground
-Idlewild Campground
-Joaquin Miller Campground
-Rock Springs Camp
-Tip Top Campground
Personal Chainsaw use will only be only be permitted before 1:00 p.m. and after 8:00 p.m., local time.
Off-road parking and travel is prohibited.
Smoking is only permitted in cars, aboard watercraft in rivers or lakes, or in areas cleared of flammable vegetation at least 6 feet in diameter.
Shooting exploding targets, tracer rounds, fireworks are any other pyrotechnic devices are prohibited.
Operating equipment wider than 50 inches or that has a dry weight of 800 pounds or more, on public lands without a shovel not less than 26 inches in overall length, with a blade not less than 8 inches wide, and a container with at least one gallon of water, or a fully charged 2.5-pound fire extinguisher is prohibited.
