PENDLETON โ Starting Monday, Forest Service Roads 4712 and 4713 in the Pomeroy Ranger District of the Umatilla National Forest will be closed for flood repair work. The closures are expected to last until the end of August.
Umatilla National Forest and the Federal Highway Administration will do the work which includes road surface improvements, erosion and sediment control, bank stabilization and ditch recondition.
During the work the following sites will be closed to the public:
โข Campgrounds: Ladybug, Panjab
โข Trailheads: Meadow Creek, Panjab, Rattlesnake and Tucannon
โข Parking area: Panjab Overflow, 4713 Rock Pit
Closure signs will be posted. Detailed closure maps are available on the Umatilla National Forest website and at any Umatilla National Forest office. ย The flood repair work is funded by the Emergency Relief for Federally Owned Roads Program following region-wide flood events in 2020.
The Pomeroy District is the northernmost area of the Umatilla National Forest. The district office is in Pomeroy, Washington.
