Grant awarded to North Powder Rual Fire Department will aid with efforts in wildfire mitigation

NORTH POWDER – The North Powder Rural Fire Department has announced a new step in wildfire prevention efforts, thanks to a recent grant from the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The grant will fund the distribution of wildfire mitigation kits to local residents. These kits are designed to help homeowners create a defensible space around their property, which is crucial in reducing wildfire damage.

Each kit includes two hoses, one impact sprinklers, two circle sprinklers, two zone automatic water timer, an adjustable hose nozzle, and brass two-way water shut-off .
